Christian Living Magazine

About Us

Christian Living magazine was founded in 2013 in Boise, Idaho to bring hope and promise to our readers by sharing what people in the Treasure Valley of Idaho are doing as the Hands and Feet of Christ. Independently owned, we publish six issues a year, each full of interesting articles written by local authors who generously donate their time and talent in the spirit of sharing God’s love with everyone from all walks of life.

Our Mission

We believe in the Trinity: God the Father, Jesus His only begotten Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Our purpose is to not only encourage our fellow believers, but to also answer questions of those seeking to know more about Christianity – what it’s supposed to look like, because we as humans all too often make a mess of it.

We aspire to live out what Jesus Himself stated as the greatest commandments: “and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

There is no other commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 (NASB)

Sandy Jones

Publisher

Our publisher, Sandy Jones, grew up in the Boise/Meridian area and loves much of what living in the Treasure Valley offers.  Aptly named, Sandra means helper of mankind – it fits! A self-professed over achiever and workaholic Sandy feels blessed to call her ministry her j-o-b.  Additionally Sandy bears the titles Wife, Mom, and Grandma –monikers she wears proudly as, second to serving the Lord, her family is most important in her life.

Sandy has a secular testimony, one she is happy to share at any time. It is best summed up in this way: she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior when she was 7 years old at Vacation Bible School and had fire insurance for most of her life. Returning to church in 1996, everything changed when one Easter Sunday , years before the Passion of the Christ, her pastor showed an excerpt from the Matthew series, depicting Christ’s crucifixion portrayed by Bruce Marchiano. Everything changed in that moment; suddenly understanding the true depth of His sacrifice, Sandy’s fire insurance transformed into full blown salvation.

Over the course of the next 15 years Sandy prayed for ministry opportunities. It was while working for another publisher that the concept for and birth of Christian Living magazine came to be, with Sandy acting as the general sales manager.  In December of 2013 Sandy was forced to resign her position due to health issues, and through the transition she and her husband, Steve, bought Christian Living. Today she gets to work her ministry full-time serving her “neighbors” throughout the Treasure Valley, and through the gift of the internet, abroad.

Sandy’s go-to verse, and daily reminder is Phil. 4:13 – I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Gaye Bunderson

Editor

Gaye Bunderson has 35 years of experience working as a writer and editor in southwestern Idaho. Over those 3½ decades, she’s worked as a reporter, lifestyle editor, wire desk editor, Book of Lists editor, business writer and editor, and, for the past three years, has been the editor of both Christian Living and Idaho Family Magazine.

She was born and raised in Ely, Nevada, and came to the Treasure Valley to attend Boise State University. She’s never looked back; Idaho is her home. Her grandparents, and later her parents, owned ranches in southwestern Idaho, so she now has experienced the isolated life of a small Nevada community in the middle of nowhere, a more urban lifestyle in beautiful Boise, and the joy of being outdoors and participating in the country life.

She hopes readers find the stories and columns in Christian Living worthwhile. Please feel free to contact her at [email protected] with comments and ideas.

Kimberly McMullen

Christian Living's SENIOR Account Executive is Kimberly McMullen.

Kimberly has resided in Idaho most her life, and has been enjoying the Treasure Valley the last 15 years. Kimberly is proud of her Idaho roots, and has a deep appreciation for Idaho’s wilderness areas; from camping, to hiking or discovering new hot springs, she feels most at home on Idaho Mountain tops.

Kimberly is a proud parent to her daughter, and was privileged to help raise her niece and nephew for six years. From being a stay-at-home mom and wife for 14 years, to a divorced mom of three, Kimberly developed a dependency on God that matured her faith, and deepened her love for the Lord. This was the time she believes she was truly transformed by God.

Kimberly found a love for middle school ministry while her kids were attending youth group, and enjoyed serving in youth ministry at her church for several years. As a small group leader to troubled teen girls, she was able to pull through the grief of her divorce, and single parenting, as God began to heal her heart through serving others.

After 6 years of  working for a local publisher, Kimberly was invited to join the Christian Living Family, and is excited to be a part of a ministry where she can use her work experience. Kimberly says she’s happy for this opportunity to connect with her community in a positive way. She stated “Christian Living Magazine is something I can put hard work and passion into, while sharing my faith in Christ.”

Kim says the simplicity of the scripture Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee” has been a profound and great comfort to her daily walk.
