SUMMARY: THE LOVE GURU is a repulsive, embarrassing, obscene, disconnected, boring, and awful movie about a Hindu sex guru, played by Mike Myers, who wants to get famous by appearing on Oprah Winfrey's TV show. No sexual perversion is overlooked in this alleged comedy vehicle, which includes nearly 70 obscenities and many instances of mocking religion, including Christianity.
IN BRIEF:
THE LOVE GURU is repulsive, embarrassing, obscene, boring, and awful. It is intentionally offensive. Mike Myers is Guru Pitka, the son of missionaries, who abandoned him as a child to be raised by a crazed guru in India along with his nemesis rival Deepak Chopra. While Chopra is interested in enlightenment, Pitka is interested in sex. Pitka resents being the No. 2 guru in the world. His manager says he can get Pitka his big break on the Oprah program if he brings a Toronto Maple Leaf hockey player back together with his wife.
This thin plot device tries to carry a stream of offensive sex, blasphemy and homosexual jokes. The flood of disgusting sexual content features every sexual perversion, including bestiality. No sane person would want to see this movie. One does not have to be overly moral, righteous or religious to find it extremely offensive and poorly made. Please keep your impressionable children away from movies like THE LOVE GURU. To give this movie a PG-13 rating is an unforgivable travesty. Don't let your children go to any movie until you check out its content at movieguide.org.
